Unit5 客房打掃Tidy the Room
酒店每天都會進行常規(guī)的客房打掃，一般是早上進行，不過由于服務(wù)員數(shù)量的不同，有的酒店會持續(xù)到中午。服務(wù)員在打掃客房時，首先要詢問客人現(xiàn)在是否方便接受打掃服務(wù)，如果顧客有要求，則根據(jù)顧客的時間來安排。
常用詞匯 Vocabulary
1. mess n.混亂 vt. 弄亂;弄臟
【雙語例句】
The room is in a mess, please tidy it up房間太亂了，麻煩收拾一下吧！
【用法解析】
mess 可指實際的臟亂，也可以指生活的糊亂，比如“I've made such a mess on my life”,我把自己的生活弄得一團糟常用短語有“mess about/around”，胡鬧;“mess something up”，把(事情)弄糟。
2. wash basin 洗臉盆;洗面池
【雙語例句】
I'll place some fresh towels in there, and clean the toilet bowl, wash basin and tub.
我會把坐廁、洗面盆、浴缸都清理干凈再放幾條新毛巾。
【用法解析】
wash意為打掃、洗凈，尤指用水、肥皂等。basin 意為盆、水坑、池塘，泛指水的容器。一般我們說的臉盆其實是“plastic wash-basin”，塑料臉盆而這里的 wash basin 多指洗面池。
3. convenient adj. 方便的
【雙語例句】
Would it be convenient if I return in half an hour?
我半小時后再來可以嗎?
【用法解析】
convenient詞根“ven=come”,表示“來
“con”表示“共同”，合在-走”，起表示“全部能來，沒有障礙的”。相關(guān)短語有“convenient store”，便利店:“convenience package”，簡裝。

服務(wù)員開始進行每天早上的客房打掃，由于該客人早上有沖涼的習(xí)慣，所以要將浴室都清理一遍，并根據(jù)客人的要求，以后都在9點后打掃。
Room Maid:Housekeeping, may l come in?
客房服務(wù)員：客房服務(wù)，我可以進來嗎?
Guest:Come in, please.
客人：請進。
Room Maid:I'm sorry to disturbyou, but may I clean the room now?
客房服務(wù)員：很抱歉打擾您，我現(xiàn)在可以清理房間嗎?
Guest: Well, I'm a bit tied up at the moment.
客人：哦，我現(xiàn)在正忙著呢.
Room Maid:Shall I come back later sir? What time would you like us to come back?
客房服務(wù)員：先生，那我過會兒再來可以嗎?您看我什么時候來合適呢?
Guest:An hour later, I just go down for my breakfast.
客人：一小時后吧，我正好下去吃早飯。
Room Maid:Sir, is it convenient to clean the room now?
客房服務(wù)員：先生，現(xiàn)在方便打掃房間嗎?
Guest: Sure, by the way, I've just taken a bath, and it's quite a mess. Could you tidy up the bathroom first?

Room Maid:Right away. I’ll clean the toilet bowl, wash basin and tub, then place some fresh towels in there.

Room Maid:Ok, afterwards, we can do the housekeeping after 9 o 'clock. Please put out a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door if you need to rest in the room, and the housekeepers won’t knock on the door again.
客房服務(wù)員：好的，以后我們都可以在9點后進行客房打掃。如果您需要在房間內(nèi)休息，請在門上掛上“請勿打擾”牌這樣服務(wù)員就不會再敲門了。
